How to Grant a Power of Attorney (PoA) Through Notarity for Bulgaria and Ireland?

What Is Notarity and Why We Use It

For companies registered in Bulgaria or Ireland, Companio uses Notarity, a secure online notarization platform, to help clients sign and validate the Power of Attorney (PoA) document. This step is required so that Companio can legally handle your company’s accounting, tax filings, and compliance with the local authorities.

Through Notarity, the PoA is notarized remotely during an online video session, so you don’t need to visit a notary in person. The process ensures that the document is legally valid in both Bulgaria and Ireland.

What You Need to Know Before the Session

Before the notarization session:

  • Do not sign or date the document beforehand. Your signature and the date must be added live during the online session with the notary.
  • You’ll receive a secure link to the Notarity platform and clear instructions from our team on how to join the session.
  • Make sure you have your passport or national ID ready, as you’ll need to show it for identity verification.
  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone enabled.

How the Process Works

  1. Companio will prepare your Power of Attorney and set up the appointment on the Notarity platform.
  2. You’ll receive an email invitation with a link to join your notarization session at the scheduled time.
  3. During the online session, the notary will verify your identity, confirm the document details, and guide you to sign and date the Power of Attorney.
  4. Once the notarization is complete, the document becomes legally valid and Companio can proceed with the necessary filings and submissions for your company.

For Bulgaria, the notarized document may also be required in hard copy, which Companio will manage and receive directly — you don’t need to handle shipping or mailing yourself.

Important Notes

  • The notarized Power of Attorney gives Companio limited authorization to manage accounting and compliance only — it does not allow access to your bank accounts or decision-making rights.
  • The process is fully online, secure, and compliant with European regulations.
  • If you encounter any issues accessing Notarity or joining your appointment, simply contact our support team — we’ll assist you right away.
