How To Open A Business Account With Uber To Get Proper Invoices?
Unlike other ridesharing providers such as Bolt, Uber does not provide you with proper invoices by default. If you order a ride with Uber, you will get a receipt like this one:
As you see, this is not a valid invoice for your business. It is missing important pieces of information such as:
- Seller info
- Buyer info
- Invoice number
- Tax information (VAT)
To get correct invoices from Uber, you need to Open a Business Uber account. But don't worry, that is pretty simple! Just follow these instructions:
Visit the Uber for business page. If you already have an account, click on "Already have an account?". Otherwise, click on "Sign Up". Now you can choose an account to migrate or, if you don't have one already, just click on "Create another company account".
Make sure to choose "Employees" for "Who will be taking rides":
Next, choose the "Travel" program. We recommend you to choose the "Standard" configuration, but you can choose "Advanced" if that better suits your business' needs.
Then, choose "Pay per trip" as the payment option, and enter your corporate bank card data.
In the "Payment methods" section you can also add your Companio Invoice Email Dropbox address to upload your invoices automatically to our dashboard!
Finally, in the Billing section, you need to enter the data of your company, including your company name, the address provided by Companio, and the VAT number if you have one (Another extra advantage, you will save the VAT in your trips).
That's all! Once your account gets activated, you can invite employees and you will receive proper invoices for your rides.
While this process is not especially complicated, if you don't want to go through it, there are alternative ridesharing providers that will issue proper invoices right away, such as Bolt. We recommend you to check them out.
