How to Remove Companio as Registered Office and/or Company Secretary from the Irish CRO Registry?
If you are moving your company away from Companio, you must update your company’s records with the Irish Companies Registration Office (CRO) so that Companio is no longer listed as your Registered Office provider and/or Company Secretary service provider. Until this is done, your company remains tied to Companio in these statutory roles, and we cannot fully complete the offboarding process.
Your new provider will usually complete these filings for you as part of their onboarding.
What changes may be required
Depending on the services Companio currently provides to your company, one or both of the following CRO filings may be needed:
Change required | CRO form |
|---|---|
Change of Registered Office address | Form B2 |
Change of Company Secretary details | Form B10 |
If your Company Secretary on the CRO register is an individual nominee rather than Companio itself, the B10 still applies — the nominee will be removed and your new secretary appointed in the same filing.
Who can file the changes
Filings can be submitted either by your new accountant or company secretarial provider, or directly by the company through the CRO’s CORE portal. Most companies ask their new provider to handle this as part of onboarding.
How to file (via CORE)
Filings are made through the CRO CORE portal at core.cro.ie. You will need:
- A CORE account (free to register).
- Your CRO company number.
- Presenter details (the person submitting the filing on behalf of the company).
Steps:
- Log in to CORE and select the relevant company.
- Submit Form B2 to update the Registered Office address, if required.
- Submit Form B10 to appoint the new Company Secretary and remove the existing secretary details. Appointment and removal are made in the same filing.
- Submit the required forms through CORE. B2 and B10 are generally filed online through CORE; please check the CRO website before submission for the latest filing requirements and any applicable fees.
- Wait for CRO confirmation that the filings have been registered. Processing times may vary. Please check the CRO register or CORE for confirmation that the update has been registered.
Timing
Under the Companies Act 2014, any change to the Registered Office or Company Secretary must be notified to the CRO within 14 days of the change taking effect.
Separately, Companio requires these arrangements to be completed within the offboarding period stated in your notice email so that a replacement Registered Office provider and/or Company Secretary is in place before our services end. Please coordinate with your new provider so both deadlines are met.
After the CRO update is completed
Once the change appears on the CRO public register:
- Log in to your Companio dashboard.
- Go to Settings → Subscription.
- Confirm that the CRO update has been completed.
This allows us to finalize the offboarding process and release any remaining documentation.
Need help?
If you are unsure what needs to be updated, please contact your new provider or the Companio support team before your offboarding deadline.
